We want owners, staff and customers to be able to use Book My Food easily, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, zoom or captions.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
The site has not had an outside accessibility audit yet. We will list the results here when it does.
What we build in
- Simple words and short sentences.
- Text you can zoom to 200% without losing anything.
- A clear focus ring, so you can see where you are with a keyboard.
- A “skip to content” link and clear page headings.
- Labels on every form field, and errors in words, not just colour.
- Veg and non-veg marks use shape as well as colour.
- Order status changes are announced to screen readers.
- Text descriptions on screenshots and photos.
- Captions on our product videos.
- Less movement when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Buttons big enough to tap easily.
Known gaps
- The live rider map is visual. Your order status and ready time are always shown in words too.
- Some screenshots show small text. The steps next to them say the same thing in words.
